Brightening the Halls of Education

University of Iowa

Among the many corporate clients that use Furniture by William Webb for their offices, higher education is a significant client of our services.  This week we are wrapping up two of our higher education work orders, one with the University of Iowa and another with Kansas State University.  Colleges know that an aesthetically pleasing space with comfortable, easy care furniture is important to their end customer, the college student.  They are looking for value and functionality when selecting a vendor for their furniture.

William Webb is one of those vendors that can provide just what they are looking for, functional, sturdy and long-lasting furniture at a good price point.  We put together a space plan for the area.  That includes creating just the right look and feel for our customers.  The University of Iowa will celebrate their new additions, the Hancher Auditorium, the Visual Arts Building and the Voxman Music Building this fall. To the left is a picture of one of the outdoor spaces we furnished for them.  The Kansas State University has completed several new buildings on campus.  We have been involved in furnishing The Kramer Dining Center.  We plan to visit the site in late September to take some photos to share with our followers.

Modern Office Cubicles

One of our latest success stories was furniture for Master Networks, a successful networking concept for business owners in the DFW area.  As a growing organization, they had outgrown their space and were moving into a new location.  They had wanted 6 offices, but the space had one large area.  Vici Tobias the office administrator for Master Networkers, got our name from one of the area groups and reached out for help.  We suggested that maybe the cubicle idea would work well for them.  He scheduled a time for us to go together to one of his showrooms and see what we had to offer, explaining that frequently we are able to find refurbished cubicles for a much lower price point.

“Once we selected one of the models he showed us, he continued to work with our lease space manager to coordinate a time for delivery that coincided with our move-in date so the furniture would be there when we arrived” said Ms. Tobias.  “We just love them and they look brand new!  No one would ever know they are used cubicles.  He even came by to check a light that had burned out and make sure it was only the bulb.  I will use him again as we continue to build our team!”

Guest Rooms Reinvented

Are you looking to convert an extra bedroom of your home into an office? With the work from home trend gaining momentum thanks to internet technology, many of us are trying to do just that. Here is just one of the many options we have to choose from. This bedroom could still serve as a guest room in addition to an office. The key pieces of furniture, the wall mounted desk and printer/ end table allow the room to serve as a work area during the week and guest room on the weekend.

Another option for a guest room would be installing a Murphy bed so the bed would stow away during the week and not take up space in your office. You can custom pick your exact configuration for example, whether you want bookshelves built in, wood or metal frame, finish color, size of bed and so forth. With the bed out of the way, the room can be devoted to your office during the week and still make room for guests on the weekend. We have plenty of other options for those small offices that will also accommodate your space.
